Sears Merry Mushroom Ceramic Spice Shaker (damaged) 1970s Japan

An original Sears Merry Mushroom ceramic spice shaker from the highly collectible Merry Mushroom kitchenware line. This tall shaker features the whimsical dimensional mushroom design and earthy colors that made the Sears collection a favorite of 1970s kitchen decor.

The creamy ceramic body is decorated with raised woodland details, including a large orange mushroom with brown spots, a smaller deep brown mushroom, and dimensional green foliage. The top is shaped like an oversized mushroom cap with a warm yellow-to-brown glazed finish and dispensing holes around the top. A small mushroom detail forms the finial.

These individual shakers were originally used together as part of the larger Sears Merry Mushroom spice shaker collection and display rack. They are frequently sought today as replacement pieces by collectors trying to complete an original set.

This shaker has several cracks throughout and is being sold in damaged condition. Visible cracking extends from the upper mushroom-cap area down into the ceramic body, with additional hairlines visible around the raised mushroom decoration and lower portion. Please examine the close-up photographs carefully, as the cracks are significant and are an important part of the item’s condition.

Because of the cracking, we recommend this piece for collecting, restoration or decorative display only rather than functional food use. The colorful raised mushroom decoration still presents nicely from the front, making it an inexpensive original piece for a Merry Mushroom display or a possible placeholder while completing a spice-rack set.

Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition.
