Vintage Glass, Local History, and a Love for the Hunt
Third Stop Vintage is a family-owned vintage business based in Derry, Pennsylvania, specializing in vintage glassware, home décor, collectibles, and other unique finds from the past.
Owned by Rachel Cunningham and Brad Lauer, Third Stop Vintage grew from a shared interest in collecting, history, and the excitement of discovering pieces that still have a story to tell.
Today, the shop at 106 E. 1st Ave. in Derry Borough is filled with colorful vintage glassware, nostalgic décor, and an ever-changing mix of treasures waiting to find their next home.
How It Started
Third Stop Vintage began live selling in October 2025 after Rachel’s son, Reese, introduced Rachel and Brad to Whatnot, a live online marketplace.
What started as a new way to share and sell vintage finds quickly became something much bigger.
Within their first year, Rachel and Brad sold more than 11,500 pieces, built a growing community of collectors, and discovered just how many people shared their excitement for vintage glass and the stories behind it.
Live selling remains a major part of Third Stop Vintage today, allowing the business to connect with collectors across the country while keeping the experience personal, interactive, and fun.
A New Home in Derry
Before settling in Derry, Third Stop Vintage operated from a rented storefront in South Greensburg.
In February 2026, Rachel and Brad purchased their property in Derry Borough with the goal of creating a permanent home for the business and providing room for future growth.
Opening the shop allowed Third Stop Vintage to bring together the online and in-person sides of the business.
Visitors can now browse shelves of vintage glassware and collectibles in person, while online customers can continue joining Rachel and Brad through live auctions, the Third Stop Vintage website, and other selling platforms.
Inspired by Western Pennsylvania Glass History
Vintage glass is at the heart of Third Stop Vintage, and its Western Pennsylvania location gives that passion special significance.
The region was once home to some of the most important names in American glassmaking, including Westmoreland Glass Company, Jeannette Glass Company, L.E. Smith Glass Company, and many others.
Third Stop Vintage regularly acquires pieces made by these historic companies, sometimes only a short distance from where they were originally produced.
That connection between the objects in the shop and the communities surrounding it is one of the things that makes vintage collecting so meaningful.
At Third Stop Vintage, glassware is viewed as more than decoration.
It is a tangible piece of local industrial history.
History Is Part of the Story
Rachel’s interest in vintage collecting is closely connected to her love of local history.
She is the author of three books published by Arcadia Publishing covering Latrobe and the Ligonier Valley, Greensburg, and lost amusement parks of Western Pennsylvania.
That background naturally carries over into Third Stop Vintage.
Rachel and Brad enjoy researching the companies that made the pieces they find, learning how those pieces were used, identifying old patterns and makers, and sharing those discoveries with other collectors.
Sometimes an item arrives with a well-documented history.
Other times, figuring out exactly what it is becomes part of the adventure.
You Never Know What They’ll Find
Although vintage glass is a specialty, Third Stop Vintage has never been limited to one category.
Its inventory may include Depression glass, milk glass, uranium glass, art glass, swung vases, mid-century kitchenware, vintage advertising, costume jewelry, toys, books, postcards, ephemera, and plenty of items that are difficult to categorize.
Rachel and Brad source inventory through estate sales, auctions, flea markets, private collections, and wherever else the hunt takes them.
That means the shop is always changing.
And that unpredictability is part of what makes Third Stop Vintage unique.
More Than a Vintage Store
Third Stop Vintage is ultimately about connecting people with pieces of the past.
Every vintage object has already lived a life before it reaches the shop.
It may have been made in a Western Pennsylvania factory decades ago, displayed in someone’s home for generations, carried home from a vacation, or used around a family dinner table.
Third Stop Vintage becomes one small part of that object’s journey before passing it along to the next person who will appreciate it.
Whether customers visit the shop in Derry, browse online, or join one of the company’s live shows, the goal is the same: to help people discover something that makes them stop, pick it up, and wonder where it has been.
That is the fun of vintage.
