Antique Adams & Co. Moon & Star Emerald Green Glass Pedestal Vase – EAPG
This striking emerald green Moon & Star pedestal vase is a lovely example of the elaborate pressed-glass designs associated with the Victorian era. Tall, recessed panels rise toward a gently scalloped, flared rim, while an ornamental twisted knop and broad radiating foot complete its elegant silhouette. The rich green glass catches the light beautifully and highlights its detailed molding.
Adams & Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania originally called this nineteenth-century pressed-glass pattern Palace. Collectors commonly know the design today as Moon & Star, a name also associated with later versions made by other glass companies. This vase is attributed to Adams & Co. and the early Moon & Star (Palace) tradition, rather than the later twentieth-century reproductions and expanded designs produced by other makers, including L.E. Smith. The exact manufacturing date and historical catalog form for this particular vase have not been independently confirmed.
At approximately 6¾ inches tall, it is a distinctive piece for a collection of Early American Pattern Glass, Victorian glassware, or Moon & Star designs. Display it with a few flower stems or let its beautiful color and sculptural form stand on their own.
