Fenton Topaz Opalescent Hobnail Vaseline Glass Basket with Handle Crack

Bright yellow-green Topaz Opalescent glass gives this Fenton hobnail basket a lively glow. Rounded hobnails cover the tapered body, while the softly milky rim opens into a deep ruffle. A tall, clear applied handle and a small circular foot give the basket an airy, balanced silhouette.

The combination of Topaz Opalescent color, hobnail texture, and crimped clear handle is characteristic of Fenton's decorative basket forms. No readable maker's mark is visible in the underside photograph, and the exact production period has not been established. The supplied UV photograph shows a strong green fluorescence in the yellow body. This is the yellow-green glass collectors commonly call Vaseline glass.

Standing approximately 7 inches tall to the top of the handle and about 3½ inches across the ruffled rim, it is a small display basket with plenty of texture.
