L.E. Smith White Milk Glass Hobnail Swung Vase – 10.5” Footed Art Glass

Sale price  $56.00 Regular price  $64.00

This striking L.E. Smith milk glass swung vase combines several classic elements of American art glass into one wonderfully unusual piece. Made from opaque white milk glass, the vase features a tall, slender silhouette, a textured hobnail-style lower body, three applied-looking feet, and a dramatic freeform swung rim.

The lower portion has a rounded, bulbous shape decorated with raised dots that gradually transition into the smooth elongated neck. Three tapered feet lift the vase slightly from the surface and add another sculptural detail to the design. At the top, the glass has been pulled into an irregular swung opening with peaks and valleys, giving each angle of the vase a slightly different appearance.

Measuring approximately 10.5 inches tall, this is a great smaller-scale example of L.E. Smith swung glass. The crisp white milk glass makes it easy to incorporate into a variety of displays, whether paired with colorful swung vases, other milk glass pieces, or used as a standalone accent.

Its combination of milk glass, hobnail texture, footed base, and swung form gives it plenty of visual interest without overwhelming a shelf or display. It would be right at home in a Mid-Century Modern collection, an all-white glass display, or alongside other pieces of American-made art glass.

Details: L.E. Smith Glass Company; opaque white milk glass; approximately 10.5” tall; raised hobnail-style decoration around the lower body; three-footed design; elongated neck; freeform swung rim.
