SR37. Sears Merry Mushroom Ceramic Spice Shaker – 1976 Japan – Excellent Condition

An original 1976 Sears Merry Mushroom ceramic spice shaker, made in Japan for the highly collectible Merry Mushroom kitchenware collection. This is one of the individual spice shakers originally designed to fit the wooden Sears Merry Mushroom spice rack and is ideal for completing a set with a missing or damaged shaker.

The creamy off-white ceramic body has a lightly ribbed vertical texture and features the familiar raised Merry Mushroom woodland design. A bright orange mushroom with dark brown spots is surrounded by dimensional green foliage and accompanied by a smaller glossy brown mushroom. The top is shaped like an oversized mushroom cap, finished in warm golden yellow and deep brown, with dispensing holes and a small mushroom detail at the crown.

The underside is clearly marked “© Sears, Roebuck and Co. 1976” and retains its original JAPAN sticker, providing excellent documentation of its age and origin.

This example is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. The glaze remains glossy, the dimensional mushroom decoration is well defined, and the original orange, brown and green colors remain vibrant.

These individual shakers are particularly useful for Merry Mushroom collectors because the original spice racks are frequently found with one or more pieces missing. It also makes a charming standalone piece of authentic 1970s kitchenware for a retro kitchen, mushroom collection or cottagecore display.
