SR51. Sears Merry Mushroom Metal Canister with Lid – 1970s Mushroom Kitchen Decor

Bring some classic 1970s mushroom style to the kitchen with this Sears Merry Mushroom metal canister. This piece features the earthy cream, brown, yellow, orange, and green color palette that made mushroom-themed kitchenware such an iconic part of the era.

The cream-colored metal body is decorated on both sides. One side features a large yellow mushroom with black spots accompanied by smaller olive green and yellow mushrooms surrounded by bright green foliage. The opposite side has a smaller arrangement featuring an orange spotted mushroom and brown mushroom nestled among greenery.

The coordinating metal lid has a distinctive retro finish that transitions from dark chocolate brown around the outer edge to warm yellow and cream toward the center, finished with a small round knob. The canister measures approximately 5 inches tall including the lid.

Unlike the ceramic Merry Mushroom canisters we’ve just listed, this example has a lightweight metal construction. It makes a great companion piece for a larger Sears Merry Mushroom collection and works equally well as standalone retro kitchen decor.

This piece shows noticeable age-related wear, including scratches, scuffs, small marks and finish wear on the cream-colored body and lid. The mushroom graphics remain colorful and attractive, and the overall wear gives the canister an authentic, well-loved retro appearance. Please examine the photographs closely for exact condition and measurements.

As with all vintage items, this piece may show minor signs of age, use, manufacturing variations, or surface wear consistent with its age. We do our best to photograph and describe any notable condition issues so you know exactly what you are purchasing.
