Northwood Grape and Cable Carnival Glass Large Three-Footed Fruit Bowl
Rich blue, teal, purple, and gold iridescence gives this large Northwood Grape and Cable fruit bowl a striking appearance. Deeply molded grape clusters, veined leaves, and a twisted cable band encircle the outside. Three curled scroll feet lift the rounded bowl, while a scalloped, ruffled edge frames the plain interior.
An underlined N within a circle is molded into the underside. The mark, pattern, and footed form identify it as Northwood's large fruit or orange bowl, a form associated with the company's early twentieth-century carnival glass. The exact production year of this example is not documented.
The smooth interior provides a broad surface for the changing iridescent colors, contrasting with the textured exterior. The finish shifts with the angle of the light, from warm gold around the rim and raised grapes to cooler blue and teal inside. The underlying glass appears dark; a specific base-color designation has not been confirmed, so this listing makes no rare-color or “electric” classification.
This substantial bowl makes a natural focal point in a carnival-glass collection or on a display table. It is offered as one bowl, without a separate stand or accessory. Ruler photographs are included for scale; their angled placement does not support precise fractional dimensions.
