SR36. Sears Merry Mushroom Ceramic Spice Shaker – 1976 Japan – Excellent Condition

An original 1976 Sears Merry Mushroom ceramic spice shaker, made in Japan for Sears’ collectible Merry Mushroom kitchenware collection. This tall individual shaker was originally designed to fit the wooden Merry Mushroom spice rack and is an excellent replacement for a missing or damaged shaker from an original set.

The creamy off-white ceramic body has the familiar vertically textured finish and colorful raised mushroom decoration that makes this pattern so recognizable. A large orange mushroom with dark brown spots is surrounded by dimensional green leaves and accompanied by a smaller glossy brown mushroom. The top takes the shape of an oversized mushroom cap, glazed in graduated shades of golden yellow and deep brown, with dispensing holes and a small mushroom detail at the crown.

The underside is clearly marked “© Sears, Roebuck and Co. 1976” and retains its original JAPAN sticker.

This example is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. The glaze remains glossy, the raised decoration is crisp, and the orange, brown and green colors remain bright.

A great replacement for an incomplete Sears Merry Mushroom spice rack, this shaker also displays beautifully on its own. It is a classic piece of 1970s kitchenware that works especially well with retro kitchen decor, vintage mushroom collections and cottagecore displays.
