SR38. Sears Merry Mushroom Ceramic Spice Shaker – 1976 Japan – Excellent Condition

An original 1976 Sears Merry Mushroom ceramic spice shaker, made in Japan as part of the collectible Merry Mushroom kitchenware collection. This is the tall individual shaker originally designed for the Sears Merry Mushroom spice rack and is an excellent replacement piece for someone building or completing an original set.

The creamy off-white ceramic body features a subtle vertical texture and the classic dimensional Merry Mushroom decoration. A large orange mushroom with dark brown spots is surrounded by green woodland foliage and accompanied by a smaller glossy brown mushroom. The top is shaped like an oversized mushroom cap and finished in warm golden yellow and deep brown tones, with dispensing holes and a small mushroom detail at the crown.

The underside is clearly marked “© Sears, Roebuck and Co. 1976” and retains its original JAPAN sticker. These markings provide excellent identification and make this particularly appealing to collectors looking for authentic early Merry Mushroom pieces.

This example is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. The glaze remains glossy, the dimensional decoration is well defined, and the orange, brown and green colors display beautifully.

Perfect as a replacement for an incomplete Merry Mushroom spice rack or as a standalone collectible, this shaker is a fun piece of authentic 1970s kitchen decor that works especially well in retro, mushroom and cottagecore collections.
