An original 1976 Sears Merry Mushroom ceramic spice shaker, made in Japan for Sears’ collectible Merry Mushroom kitchenware collection. This tall individual shaker was designed as part of the original Merry Mushroom spice rack set and is a great replacement for anyone working toward a complete collection.

The shaker has a creamy off-white ceramic body with a lightly textured vertical finish. The front features the classic raised Merry Mushroom scene: a bright orange mushroom with dark brown spots, a smaller glossy brown mushroom, and dimensional green foliage wrapping around the base. The mushroom-shaped top is glazed in graduated shades of golden yellow and rich brown and includes dispensing holes along with the small mushroom detail at the crown.

The underside is clearly marked “© Sears, Roebuck and Co. 1976” and retains its original JAPAN sticker, making its age and origin easy to document.

This example is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. The ceramic remains glossy, the raised details are crisp, and the orange, brown and green decoration retains strong color.

These original individual shakers are sought by Merry Mushroom collectors because complete spice-rack sets are often found with one or more shakers missing or damaged. It also makes a fun standalone piece of authentic 1970s kitchen decor for a retro, mushroom or cottagecore collection.
