SR44. Sears Merry Mushroom Ceramic Spice Shaker – 1976 Japan – Excellent Condition

An original 1976 Sears Merry Mushroom ceramic spice shaker from the highly collectible Merry Mushroom kitchenware collection. This is one of the individual spice shakers originally designed to be displayed together in the Merry Mushroom spice rack.

The shaker features a creamy off-white ceramic body decorated with the classic raised woodland design. A bright orange mushroom with brown spots is paired with a smaller glossy brown mushroom and surrounded by dimensional green foliage. The oversized mushroom-cap top is finished in warm golden yellow and deep brown, with dispensing holes incorporated into the cap and a small dimensional mushroom accent at the top.

The underside is clearly marked “© Sears, Roebuck and Co. 1976” and retains its original JAPAN sticker, providing excellent identification and dating for the piece.

This example is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks noted. The raised decoration remains colorful and well defined, and the glazed finish displays beautifully. Please review the photographs for the exact condition and details of the piece.

Individual Merry Mushroom spice shakers have become especially useful to collectors who are assembling an original set or trying to fill missing spaces in a Sears Merry Mushroom spice rack. The slender original spice-rack shakers measure approximately 4¾ inches tall with a roughly 1½-inch base and were manufactured in Japan.
